Local Compassion

Here are some ways to serve our local community with the love and compassion of Jesus as we live on mission.

Follow the links for more info, where applicable!

Serve your immediate neighbors:

1

  • Take a meal to someone.

  • Offer to do a project (mow the lawn, fix the fence, run an errand).

  • Engage in conversation and build relationships with neighbors who might lack community.

  • Think about your skills (woodworking, administration, etc.), resources (money, spare clothes, furniture, etc), and passions (those things you love to do). How could you share those with your neighbors?

Serve our wider community:

2

  • Second Harvest Food Bank - Our local food distribution sites are in great need as they care for thousands of people struggling with food insecurity. Sign up to volunteer on a one time or ongoing basis here. This is a great opportunity to serve with a bigger group of friends, or your community group!

  • Wings Homeless Advocacy - Support individuals working through the challenges of homelessness to overcome barriers of employment and housing, and help the newly housed access resources. Check out current serving opportunities here.

  • Shared Adventures - Help bring recreational and social experiences to those living with disabilities. Check out current serving opportunities here.
