Original Blues: A Look into the Ancient Songwriting of the Psalms

originalblues_final.png

The Blues is known for its raw and authentic musical expression of deep human emotion.  Similar to blues music, the Bible is full of poetry and original songs or “Psalms” written by artists throughout ancient history.  Many of these “Psalms” are raw expressions of the writer’s heart and emotional state as they cried out to God for help and comfort or they lifted up a shout of thanks or praise.  This teaching series will cover four individual Psalms that connect with us on many levels, from overcoming fear to understanding our identity as deeply loved by God.

Psalm 27 – a song about fear and overcoming it  (Dan Kimball)
Psalm 119 – a song about being known and loved by God (Danielle Fox)
Psalm 37 – a song about living for God (Phil Comer)
Psalm 130 – a song about redemption (Nathan George)
