As we wrap up our Compassion Immersion series, we want to invite our community to take their practical next steps in terms of serving those in need, locally and globally! This Sunday, we are having a Local & Global Ministry Faire after every gathering, featuring a number of incredible ministries and organizations for you to check out!

Here's a sneak preview...

Backpack Packing Party

VFC's Local Justice and Compassion Ministry is excited to partner with the Pregnancy Resource Center and Beach Flats Center to provide backpacks full of school supplies for each and every child that they serve, ranging in age from 6-17. On Wednesday August 13 from 6:30-8pm in the Multi-purpose Room, you're invited to help sort and pack all the backpacks and supplies to prepare them for delivery! Contact Laura for more info,

Beach Flats Community Center

The Beach Flats Community Center focus is on providing much needed youth programs for low-income, at-risk youth in 3rd-11th grade. We’re located in the heart of the largely low-income, Latino neighborhood of Beach Flats. Meet our Beach Flats rep and find out how to support BFCC!

Feeding the Spirit

Feeding the Spirit is a rapidly growing “turnkey” ministry that provides nutritious meals to hungry people in Santa Cruz County, through volunteer labor and contributed funds. Their mission is to demonstrate Christ’s love through service, and they do so by serving meals to 300-400 people each weekend, with a volunteer crew of 15-25 people at an average cost of only 50 cents per meal. Learn more on Sunday about practical ways you can serve!

Foster Care through SC County

At any given time there are about 300 children in Santa Cruz Counties Child protective services.  Santa Cruz county is looking for loving people to care for these children on a short term basis or as Forever homes. Please consider partnering with us as we care for these amazing children. Contact Anastasia Stone for more details:

Pregnancy Resource Center

Pregnancy Resource Center has been trusted by women since 1985 and provides free and confidential medical and counseling services to women experiencing a crisis or unwanted pregnancy. Learn more on Sunday about how to support PRC's efforts.

Remember Nhu Sponsorships

Remember Nhu’s approach at combating child sex slavery is to help one child at a time, one family and in doing so, one village at a time. They are committed to meeting the physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs of at-risk children before the nightmare of the sex trade ever becomes reality. This Sunday, you can sign up to sponsor a child.

Second Harvest Food Bank

Second Harvest’s mission is to end hunger and malnutrition by educating and involving the community. Through our network of more than 200 agencies and programs and over 3,000 volunteers, we distribute over 8 million pounds of food annually to working poor families, children, and seniors. Learn about all the ways you can connect with Second Harvest's work!

Siena House

In the Spirit of God's love, Siena House provides an environment of total support for women experiencing a crisis pregnancy. Services are provided both before and after delivery. Talk with a Siena House volunteer to find out how to plug in!
