Vintage Faith's GlobalTeam

Vision

Our vision is to shine light to the marginalized and oppressed by engaging Vintage Faith Church in global action

Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. - Isaiah 58:10

Values

As we work to achieve our vision, Vintage Faith's GlobalTeam will strive to:

… balance “good news and good works” – desiring to share the love of Jesus while at the same meeting the physical and emotional needs of those we serve

… focus our energy and efforts prayerfully and strategically to a few areas vs. spreading ourselves thin by taking on too many projects

... seek to be culturally sensitive, loving, and respectful within the various cultures that we serve

... embrace the values of both people and projects: organizing projects and events as a means for education and action and "sending" those called to overseas global missions work

… value sustainability, giving our time and resources toward projects that will help lift people out of their circumstances vs enabling them to continue in any unhealthy cycles they may be caught in

… seek humility, recognizing that serving the marginalized and oppressed in our world is not about how great we are, but about how good God is and about our call to honor and reflect Him in all we do

… communicate our vision and values in a language that the larger community can understand and embrace, being sensitive to the culture of VFC and the specific call we have in our local context

… use creativity and innovation to cast vision and engage the community in global initiatives and projects

… partner with and support existing missional organizations and non-profits to help further the work they do, as well as to reach out to and support non-profit staff and volunteers

Supported Organizations and Ministries

The following Organizations and Ministries receive monthly financial support, as well as encouragement and prayer from VFC.

Uganda

Path Ministries International supports Otino Waa Children’s Village in Lira, Uganda. In 2007, VFC sent a team to construct a home for children on its campus. Since then, VFC has partnered with Path to improve rural springs in the surrounding area and provide food and supplies to the children at Otino Waa. The Global Team also sends monthly support for Otino Waa.

Invest in a kid through PATH Ministries

There are children all over the world who need a little extra love and encouragement.  Of course we as individuals can’t help them all, but here is an opportunity for you to tell one little boy or girl in Uganda that they are incredibly valuable! VFC is connected to PATH ministries in Uganda and we encouarge you to get more information about sponsoring a kid through their ministry at www.pathministries.net.

 Mexico

VFC has sent several teams to serve at Grace Children’s Home. These teams have helped construct facilities, run Bible camps, and minister to the surrounding community. The Global Team sends monthly support to Grace Children’s Home. Their Mission Statement reads:

Grace Children’s Home exists to assist the local church in the city of Tijuana to fulfill God’s commandment of caring for “the least of these” (Matt. 25:40). Grace Children’s Home stands as a beacon of God’s love in the city of Tijuana.  We do this by caring for abused, neglected or orphaned babies and children, as well as needy seniors. We reach the local community with spiritual and physical assistance. We host and help Christian servants to fulfill the commission to “Go into all the world and make disciples.
