Community Group Leader

A Community Group leader journeys with the people in his/her group on a weekly basis as they seek to follow in the way of Jesus. The three main ways we encourage groups to grow together in the way of Jesus are personal connection, prayer, and scripture study. A community group leader is in charge of rallying their group around these three elements.

  • PRAYER: Facilitate and encourage prayer in the group
  • SCRIPTURE: Generally guide the discussion of scripture and do some extra study before the group to add to the depth of what is being talked about. They can also assign other members of the group to share the responsibility of leading the study and discussion of scripture.
  • CONNECTION: Help support personal connection among the members by make sure that everyone in the group gets a chance to share what is happening in their lives.

Each community group leader is given a community group mentor to help support and encourage them as they lead their group.
