Dear Vintage Kids families and parents,

Jay here. Thanks for taking a bit of time to read this email. Amy and I both wish we could be having this conversation with each of you in person but for now this email will have to do. This will be a bit long but please read it in its entirety, as this is crucial news regarding Kids Ministry.

We're writing to share with you about an important transition. After almost 6 months of prayerful dialogue and weekly conversations with me, Amy has come to the difficult decision to transition out of her staff role at Vintage Faith Church as our Kids Ministry Director. She'll share more below but the first thing I'd like to say is that the Vintage Faith Church leadership team has so much deep appreciation for the 7+ years of faithful ministry that Amy has poured into our community. Her leadership has led our Kids Ministry from just a handful of kids to well over 100 kids every Sunday now. We are beyond grateful for all that Amy has done and we'll greatly miss her energetic, loving presence on staff with us.

Transitions are never easy but they are necessary sometimes. I would ask in this season of transition for our Kids Ministry, that you dig in even deeper with us. We are actively searching now for our next Kids & Families Ministry Director. This role will become a full-time role, as our church sees the tremendous importance of investing in the next generation. Please be praying alongside us. Pray for our amazing team of volunteer leaders. Maybe even consider jumping in for a season and serving alongside them.

As we prayerfully seek and search for our next Kids & Families Ministry Director, we have an awesome transitional/interim team, made up of current staff and others in the Vintage Faith community who have strong experience serving in Kids Ministry. We are confident that Kids Ministry will continue moving forward during this transitional period with consistency and excellence.

There's so much more I wish I could share here but for sake of time and length, I'll leave it here for now. Again, we have nothing but love for and gratitude towards Amy and we are sad to see her go. But we're also incredibly hopeful and excited about the future, for both Amy and for Vintage Kids. Please mark Sunday, July 16th on your calendars as that will Amy's last day on staff with us. We'll celebrate and thank her in the gatherings and we'll also have a reception for her after the 11am gathering. Please plan on joining us.

If you have any questions, thoughts, or would like clarification on anything regarding this transition, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. You can email me at jay@vintagechurch.org and I'd be happy to set up a time to talk with you.

With that, I'll pass this on to Amy. She will share more about her transition below.

Hi there Vintage Families,

I have to begin by telling you what an incredible honor is has been to be able to walk alongsideVintage families through everything from child dedications to Christmas parties, from singing performances to 5th grade graduations, not to mention all of the fun that we have had over the years on Sundays. It’s difficult to sum up my feelings in an email, but it’s truly been a gift to see your kids to grow in their understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.

As Jay mentioned, it has been a long, hard decision process for me to move on from my role as the Director of Kids Ministry at Vintage. I care so deeply for each family that walks in Vintage Faith’s doors that it’s hard to imagine not being there every week to greet you and to work alongside the fabulous volunteers to create a warm, loving and fun environment for your child to learn more about Jesus.

At this point it looks like God may be leading me on a new adventure, vocationally, although I'm intentionally giving myself time before I jump into something new. I’d love your prayers for God to give Josh and I discernment to know exactly where he wants me in this next chapter. We are confident that God has good things and look forward to a little more space to hear his voice.

Though we don’t know all that this next season holds for us, our family’s hope and prayer is that we can still be an active part of the Vintage community. I have a deep love and passion for our mission at Vintage and I want to encourage you to continue to be a part of the mission as a worshipping community of missional theologians who want to show God’s deep love to our county.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read this email. If you have any questions or just want to connect, please email me so that we can plan a time to get together.

Thank you for being such an authentic, encouraging and prayerful community.

With love,

Amy
