 About Blogs and Myspace 

Online blogging and Myspace communities are becoming some of the most popular ways for our culture to communicate. As a result, most of the staff have blogs and Myspace accounts… even the church and church coffeehouse have ‘em!

BLOGS:

For those of you that may not have encountered them yet, "blogs" are online journals comprised of someone’s thoughts, experiences, and ideas. The staff blogs are not necessarily devotionals or Bible verses with little messages. These blogs are simply random thoughts, experiences, insights and observations about life.

Some of you might be disappointed because you are not seeing more "spiritually” themed blog entries by the staff, but that isn’t their only purpose. We are hoping the blogs will be a way to help break down some barriers and give you a chance to get to know the staff a bit more. We realize it is a risky move to open ourselves up through blogs- you may make judgments about us based on the small things like the music we listen to or the big things like the observations we make about life. You may even end up thinking we are a little weird, but that’s ok! Knowing us a bit better is all part of why we are doing this!

MYSPACE:

Myspace is a social networking site, with the ability to link together literally millions of people all over the world. There are pictures, personal bios and comments from “myspace friends” on each person’s page. Myspace is more focused on socializing, witty banter and, in the case of our coffeehouse myspace page, relaying information about various events taking place.

Please know we will do our best to make both the blogs and the myspace pages appropriate for a wide audience, but cannot vouch for all the comments we receive, as some are posted without our control.

We hope, at some point, to have a section of blogs from people within the church community. If you are interested in making your blog public and having it added to the VFC web site, email Kristin.
