Sarah Martin

Director of Worship Gatherings, Coffeehouse

Sarah works hard to make the worship gatherings happen each week,
from pre-planning, implementing and guiding the worship gathering
ministries that make up the Palette (media, art, photography, sacred
space, etc.) She also gives oversight to leaders and volunteers for the
Brick House barista and events teams. She also likes to change her hairstyle. A lot.

Sarah was born and raised in San Jose and graduated from William Jessup University (formerly San Jose Christian College) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible and Theology and also Youth Ministry. Sarah served for over 6 years in the junior high ministry at WestGate Church, joining the church staff as the junior high intern in 2001 and then as the director of junior high ministries for the last year and a half of her time there. It was at WestGate that she met the man of her dreams, the two were married in August 2004. They moved one week later to Rocklin, a suburb of Sacramento, where she and Mike co-led junior high and high school ministries at a local church for over a year and a half. They felt that God wanted them to serve in a church that reflected the values of the emerging generation so they moved back to Mike’s hometown of Santa Cruz and they’ve been at Vintage Faith ever since.Sarah is a lover of the performing arts and has spent most of her life on a stage: acted in numerous plays, one-acts, and vignettes; trained for over 10 years in Classical Ballet and other various forms of dance as well as led numerous dance teams. Sarah has also been known to sing-in the car, in the shower and on stage. She loves to engage in thoughtful conversation, especially about theology, church and ministry, enjoys reading books, loves vintage clothing, mountain biking, and enjoys spending time with her husband, family and friends.
